Flying On The Fringe

I’m back on track for Dagran. I reported the pirates to both the Dagran and Argus port authorities, but even if they tried to investigate, the culprits would probably be long gone. Out here on The Fringe we’re beyond the jurisdiction of the Alliance Enforcers, who control piracy in the central part of the galactic arm. I’ve always avoided operating in Alliance territory because you have to submit to random boarding and searches by the Enforcers. Any power like that makes me very nervous. On the flip side, on The Fringe there’s no single organization responsible for chasing down pirates and eliminating them. If they get too close to a particular planet, the planetary defense force might go after them, but they know that, so they stay out in deep space. So chances are, those guys are still around going after somebody else. At least they shouldn’t still be on my flight path.
