Dropped out of warp for a while and played bump-and-dodge with an asteroid field today. It had several Class-1 sized rocks, must have been the remains of a large planet. I didn’t mess with those, just the Class-5 and smaller. Too bad there wasn’t a star system close by. They can be really pretty if there’s enough light to shine on them. These were only visible on my ship’s sensors until I got close enough to hit them with a beam from the ship’s forward landing lights. I did pretty well today, though without the shields I’d still be dead. I hit one on the front shields and one sneaky one tumbled around behind and smacked me in the rear. I’ll get even with him next time.
Argus is only another day away at warp speed. I sent a message on ahead to alert them that I was now captain of the ship, and sent them my documents so I wouldn’t have any delays getting approval to enter the atmosphere when I get there. I’m hoping to get a message back with a cargo assignment for my next destination. If they don’t have one waiting for me, I’ll be grounded for a couple of days waiting for one. But since I don’t have any preference as to what direction I go next, I should get one pretty quick.
